Candidate:
You are a qualified Electrical Engineer with an understanding and exposure to a Heavy Industrial arena, ideally with the Paper making industry. You will want to take on a position of responsibility working on the reliability of the Plant, specifically on two paper machines. As the Maintenance (Electrical) Engineer you will provide a valuable communication link between Production/Electrical and Mechanical teams and ensure the effective resolution of Plant E&I issues. Your knowledge of electrical engineering needs of a heavy engineering operating plant will be invaluable and you will have to "hit the ground running" as this is a crucial role.

Position:

Reporting directly to the Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer your key responsibilities for support services covering the areas below:
  • Distributed Control System (SCADA), Drives (LV Variable Speeds) Instrumentation, and LV/HV Electrical Switchgear and distribution systems.
  • Review and development of maintenance strategies (there is a 12-16 hour shutdown every three weeks) including Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology.
  • Optimisation of installed equipment for plant availability, performance and reduced maintenance cost.
  • Determination of adequate and economic plant spares holdings including rehabilitation and reverse engineering options.
  • Participation in development of the Plants Quality improvement program.
Qualification:
In order to be considered for this role you must be a Degree qualified Electrical Engineer with a sound understanding of the Electrical Engineering needs of a heavy engineering operating plant. A strong understanding of the Australian wiring standards is a must. Experience within the Paper/Printing or even Steel (Rolling mills) environments will be looked upon very favourably. You must have relevant Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance experience.

Knowledge of the following product range would be ideal:
  • HV/AC Drives
  • ABB/Siemens DC Drives
  • Siemens S7, Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500 and Control Logix PLC s.
  • MS Word/Excel/Project knowledge is essential
